SANDAKAN - DAY 02 - PART 05 - LABUK BAY PROBOSCIS MONKEY SANCTUARY

Kemudian kami ke Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. 

Kalau dulu saya dan isteri ke Platform B, kali ini saya [dan sister and her family] ke Platform A.

Luas platform ni. Ni yang bahagian berbumbung.

Dan lebih luas lagi di bahagian open air ni. 

Seorang staff sanctuary ni buat [jerit] bunyi monyet proboscis untuk menarik perhatian monyet2 tu to come to the platform for food/fruits. Within a few minutes menjelmalah monyet2 kaler oren kecoklatan ni. 

Macam manusia duduk. Saje je saya pilih foto yang ni sebab tangan dan lututnya tutup his red tut-tut... hehe

Aaaa... saya suka shot ni :). Cedok air pakai tangan dan tuang ke mulut. 

Selain orangutan, monyet proboscis ni yang saya rasa karektornya also dekat macam manusia. 

Sebab nak kan shots dari depan masa dia tengah jalan macam ni, saya beranikan diri jugak. Bila dah nak dekat, cepat2 saya cabut.. hahahaha.... dah la chief [dominant male] yang sekor ni.. hehehe... 

Ada 2 kelumpok yang datang makan. Ni salah satu groups tu. 

Ok tu je. Tak berapa banyak foto yang saya ambil kerana dulu masa ke sini dah pun puas ambik gambar monyet2 ni :).

SANDAKAN

Lepas naik the North Borneo Railway di Kota Kinabalu, malam tu kami bertolak ke Sandakan. Di Sandakan kami stayed at the Four Points Hotel. We were pleasantly surprised that we got a corner room and jadi lagi excited bila later realize that because of the corner location room we got to enjoy both sunrise and sunset views!

Lepas breakfast kami ke Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center. Nak tengok orangutan. We walk for about 15 minutes on wooden platforms with our guide and other tourists to the feeding place. Feeding time pukul 10:00 am, tapi orangutan tu pukul 9:45 am dah datang. Our guide kata we'll be lucky kalau 2 or 3 orangutan muncul. Maklum la kan, orangutan liar. Fortunately 5/6 ekor datang. So yay! :)

Oh mannn... look at that long stretched arms! 

So sweet, right! Masa mak dia bergerak gayut2 tu, baby dia is safe and resting on her chest. 

Tu dia! I bet apa ader dalam lobang hidung orangutan tu pun dia boleh nampak.. hehe. I wish I have one too though.. hehe.  

Hahahaa.... semua yg ader kat situ ketawa kuat bila si kecik ni pi kencing sambil swinging.. hehe. 

They are quite fond of kacang panjang I noticed.

Dia ni suka berhias. Suka letak daun atas kepala.. hehe.

They are super adorable! :)

Then kami bertolak pula ke sanctuary seterusnya. Macam biasa while on the way to the next destination, I'll be capturing people shots :)

And we arrived at the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. On the way to the feeding area, ternampak burung ni. So snap la a few shots. 

Sampai je ternampak dua ekor proboscis monkey ni tengah gaduh! Hehe.... photo opp!

Must be some real serious disagreements. Perhaps involving an lovely female proboscis monkey kot.. hehe. 

Tengah susukan anak. Sampai terlentuk menenen. 

This is the dominant male in the group. Size badan dia bigger than the rest and has that commanding look and posture. Ni dia tengah resting. 

Tetiba dia jerit. Monyet lain terkejut, apatah lagi we all tourists semua. Heran kenapa dia tetiba garang macam tu.

Rupanya ader ular! Tak lama pas tu ular tu blah!

I just love this moment! Sampai dah tertido!

They don't look agressive. Agaknya dah biasa dengan kehadiran tourists kot. I guess as long as there is that 'safe' distance, all is fine :)

Main tarik-tarik hidung pulak. Hidung dah le besar so senang le nak kepit... hehe.

And he jumped! So happy me got this shot, finally! Hehehe...

Kat sanctuary tu tetiba muncul 2 ekor burung hornbill ni. So dapat a couple of shots of this magnificent bird :)

Finish there, kami off to the next destination. On the way capture lagi shots of people there :)

Dari satu bukit tinggi dapat nampak water village. So beautiful!

Then kami ke Pasar Umun Sandakan [Sandakan Central Market].

Well, pasar ni ader 3 tingkat. So kami jalan-jalan je la cause tak der plan nak shopping. For me seronok la cause of the photo opps!

Ayam-ayam nicely wrapped and tak der pun smell busuk. Bersih dan kering tempat tu. 

Ni bahagian basah. Ikan dan sea products.

Then ke bahagian kering.

Ni bahagian belakang pasar. Ader jeti nelayan rupanya! I got super excited dan plan nak pegi sini esoknya after breakfast. I suspect pagi-pagi mesti ramai nelayan akan drop ke situ.

Suasana jeti tadi dari tingkat dua. Dah lengang sebab dah petang. Semoga esok jeti tu sibuk :).

As part of the city tour, kami di bawa ke kampung air or water village, Kampung Buli, Sim Sim. Dah dari KL dah I was excited nak ke sini :)

Tenang je suasana di situ.

Ader laluan concrete, ader yang kayu. 

Of course ader ASTRO.. hehe

Kedai runcit :)

Ni rumah orang kaya kot.

Ader yang bela helang pulak. Kesian burung2 tu :(.

Mula-mula ingatkan buaya.. hehe.

Then drove back to hotel. Shoot lagi people of Sandakan :)

Matahari dah nak terbenam. The blue hour. Shot from hotel windows. 

The next day..... gorgeous sunrise. Tak ambik banyak shots cause nak cepat gi breakfast and then nak ke jati nelayan. Actually tak perlu nak cepat-cepat pun sebab hotel dan pasar umum tu bersebelahan je... hehe.

Sampai je... aaaaa.... got boats.

Also can see got dock activities. Excitement! 

Ikan-ikan situ besar-besar belaka!! Satu bakul tu boleh jamu satu kenduri kot!

Berapa kilo agaknya sekor tu. Adakah seberat bag camera saya?

Saya mintak izin dulu nak ambik gambar. Orang Sandakan memang best la. Ok je kalau nak ambik foto.

Macam-macam activities. Mana satu nak shoot.. hehehe...

Puhh.. puas hati betul dapat ambik gambar kat situ. Maklum la, bukan selalu dapat opportunities macam tu.

Lepas tu, kami jalan-jalan kat town pulak. Berikut adalah people shots/street photography/morning walk di bandar Sandakan.

Dah penat kami balik ke hotel. Kat depan hotel took a few more shots. Hotel ni dibina betul-betul tepi laut. So activities laut macam ni adalah normal.

Kat tepi hotel tu ader dataran where people lepak. Ader pulak mamat 2 orang ni yang showcase their football skills to the delight of onlookers.
