AYAM PENYET SUMATERA

Saya suka belek menu restoran nak tengok foto2 makanan yg diletak pada menu. Kira ni kategori 'Food Photography' le :). Pada saya kriteria utama ialah mesti kasi pelanggan nampak sajian menyelerakan with vibrant colours, fresh ingredients, content of the plates and the portions/size of meals.

Bila kami yg memang nak cari dinner masa tu, ternampak restoran yg baru buka ni, kami pun try la. Nama restoran - Ayam Penyet Sumatera di Spectrum Mall Bandar Baru Ampang.


















































Saya bukan food critic. Cuma observations of a customer who was looking for a nice dinner :).

Ambience: Bagus. Selesa dan quite inviting. Bersih.

Service: Layanan waitress yg bagus dgn senyuman.

Time deliver food: Reasonable.

Food:
- Saya order combo mee goreng + ayam penyet dan isteri saya order combo ayam goreng berempah.
- Kami pernah rasa ayam penyet yg lebih sedap di restoran lain. Jadi kami decided tak akan makan ayam penyet di restoran ni lagi. However, kami mungkin datang lagi untuk try sajian lain. See how lah. Anyway, since their signature/main dish is the 'Ayam Penyet Sumatera', makanya it was a bit disappointing.
- Mee gorengnya rasa manis. Rasa tak kena dgn tekak saya.
- Wife kata ayam goreng berempah tu biasa2 je.
- Sambal cili cecah mengandungi sangat banyak biji-biji cili. Terlalu banyak sampai the actual sambalnya cuma seciput.

Other observations:
1) Masa nak bayar di kaunter, apparently our orders were not punched into their computer hence there was no record of what we ate.
- So kena repeat balik pada cashier tu apa yg kami makan.
- What's worse, the cashier and the waitress who took our order did not even bother to say 'maaf'. Honestly though, I was not expecting for an apology but it'll be good customer service to say 'sorry', ye tak.
- Juga, kalau ada masalah technical macam ni jgn la cerita pada customer. Nampak macam tak canggih dan tak profesional la pulak. Just calculate je manually.
- Imagine kalau ada customer yg demand for a receipt? So how?

2) Lagu Melayu yg sangat rancak dipasang dengan sangat kuat hingga saya dan isteri tak dapat dengar apa yg kami cuba bualkan. MasyaAllah, SANGAT KUAT! Saya juga perasan lagu2 yg mereka pasang tu ialah lagu2 yg it seemed mereka yg enjoy bukan yg customer enjoy or bukannnya untuk help create a nice restaurant environment.

3) Satu benda yg kelakar saya observe was betul2 atas pintu masuk ada sign 'KELUAR' which was meant for customer to exit after eating or to exit in case of emergency. Yes, sign 'KELUAR' tu double sided so yg mengadap ke bahagian dalam restoran tu kira ok la. Tapi jgn la show sign tu di pintu masuk mengadap arah depan restoran.

4) Saya juga notice staff2 di kitchen bersembang2 kuat hingga masa saya jalan keluar saya boleh dengar jelas. Juga terdapat 2 orang waitresses sedang melepak di kaunter mengadap ke dapur menyumbang pada topik perbualan. Not quite professional, me think.

5) Saya notice beberapa kali chef [tukang masak?] yg kelihatan remaja keluar dari pintu depan restoran sambil jari memicit2 handphone. He walked in and out a few times. Kadang engaged with someone on the phone. Entah lah nak kata emergency nampak macam gelak2 je. Again, that seemed a bit unprofessional I think.
