QATAR - DAY 02 - MORNING WALK

Assalamualaikum

🔵Suasana pagi dari tingkap hotel penginapan kami selama di Doha, Hotel Doubletree By Hilton - Doha Old Town.

🔵Bulan Januari di Doha, waktu solat Subuhnya pukul 5 pagi. Sarapan di hotel ini starts pukul 6 pagi. Setiap hari kami turun sarapan pukul 6:30 pagi.

🔵Sarapan pagi di Restoran L2, Hotel Doubletree By Hilton - Doha Old Town.

🔵Buffet breakfast.

🔵Egg station.

🔵Yang seronoknya bercuti dan menginap di hotel negara Islam, semua makanan buffet sarapan adalah halal 😀.

🔵Ada scrambled eggs, baked beans, semiya upma (South Indian Breakfast made with vermicelli, tempering spices, nuts, and herbs), chicken and beef sausages, rosemary roast potatoes, cheese spring rolls, manakish (Levantine pastry) with tomato / zaatar (a type of cheese), baba ghanoush (eastern Mediterranean spread) and kibbeh (national dish of Lebanon and Syria).

🔵Di sebelah kiri ialah hotel Golden Tulip Doha dan di sebelah kanan ialah Qatar Red Crescent.

🔵Selepas bersarapan, kami buat morning walk di sekitar hotel sebelum adik my wife tiba untuk bawa kami jalan-jalan di hari kedua kami di Doha, Qatar ini. 

🔵Suasana sunyi sebab hari itu hari Jumaat, hari tidak bekerja di Qatar. Lagi tambah sunyi sebab banyak jalan raya ditutup sementara di sekitar kawasan Corniche kerana berlangsungnya Doha Marathon 2025.

🔵Qatar experiences long summers from May to September characterized by intense dry heat, with temperatures rising above 45°C. 

🔹Winter temperatures are mild but may fall below 5°C. 

🔹Rainfall is only experienced during the winter with the northern parts of the country receiving 30% more rainfall than the south.

🔹The complex form of the desert rose, found in Qatar’s arid desert regions, inspired the striking design of the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) building, conceived by French architect Jean Nouvel.

🔵Sculpture 'ALFA' by  Jean Michel Othoniel.

🔹ALFA arises like majestic black reeds along the 900-meter-long shores of the lagoon. From various angles, silhouettes reflected on the water evoke the abstract beauty of Arabic calligraphy. During the day, the sculptures transform into fountains every 30 minutes, launching arabesques of water towards the sky.

🔵National Museum of Qatar Playgrounds.

🔹The playground encourages visitors to learn more about the local history and culture of Qatar in a fun, engaging, sensory and emotional way. 

🔹The two interrelated playgrounds - The Cave of Wonders inspired by local Dahl or cave structures, and The Adventure Ship reminiscent of traditional boats and trade. 

🔹The materials used in the playground highlight the authentic form and texture of the original cultural objects and provide a tactile interaction with the space creating intrigue and imagination as to what life may have been like living in the past.

🔵Berjalan balik ke hotel. Dah nak dekat masa adik my wife akan tiba to pick us up for the day's jalan-jalan.

🔵Complimentary drinks at the hotel's lobby ماء الديتوكس - Detox water - apple, cucumber, orange, lemon and mint. Very nice and refreshing.
