ITALY & SWITZERLAND - ITALY - ZONE 1 HISTORIC CENTER MILAN - PART 02

Assalamualaikum.

Dua orang lelaki kulit hitam dalam foto di bawah nampak macam scammers but I'm not sure. I saw them approached unsuspecting tourists especially those who are alone and put the bracelets on the tourists wrist and then ask for money. Those horror stories I read in the internet said these scammers asked for an exorbitant amount of money and can be menacing if the tourists do not want to pay. But to be fair, I did not see that happening with these two guys. Perhaps they were honestly selling those bracelets and not scamming.

Milan Tram. Milan mempunyai 18 laluan trem yang beroperasi melepasi tengah malam setiap hari. Beroperasi sejak 1881, rangkaian trem Milan kini sepanjang 180.3 km, menjadikannya salah satu yang terbesar di dunia.

Berhati-hatilah.

Jadi tidaklah risau di approach by scammers.

This is Milan Sirio tram.

Monumento a Giuseppe Parini

Palazzo del Credito Italiano (Palace of the Italian Credit), a historical landmark. The Palazzo del Credito Italiano is a historic building situated in Piazza Cordusio in Milan.

Masuk ke Piazza dei Mercanti (Merchant Square).
Wikipedia: Piazza Mercanti ("Merchants Square") is a central city square of Milan, Italy. It is located between Piazza del Duomo, which marks the centre of the modern city of Milan, and Piazza Cordusio, and it used to be the heart of the city in the Middle Ages.

Palazzo dei Giureconsulti (Palace of Giureconsulti).
Wikipedia: The Giureconsulti Palace, also known as Palazzo Affari ai Giureconsulti or simply Palazzo Affari, is a 16th-century building of Milan, Italy. It is located in Piazza Mercanti, former city centre in the Middle Ages. The construction of the palace began in 1562 on a design by architect Vincenzo Seregni.

Palazzo della Ragione (Palace of Reason).
Wikipedia: The Palazzo della Ragione is a historic building of Milan, Italy, located in Piazza Mercanti, facing the Loggia degli Osii. It was built in the 13th century and originally served as a broletto as well as a judicial seat. As it was the second broletto to be built in Milan, it is also known as the Broletto Nuovo

Ini pula adalah bangunan Palazzo delle Scuole Palatine (Palace of the Palatine School), juga a historical landmark.
Wikipedia: The Palazzo delle Scuole Palatine is a historic building of Milan, Italy, located in Piazza Mercanti, the former city centre in the Middle Ages. It served as the seat of the most prestigious higher school of medieval Milan.

Wikipedia: At the centre of the square is a 16th-century pit, surmounted by two 18th century columns. The pit was originally adjacent to the Palazzo dei Giureconsulti; where it stands now, a large stone was found, known as the "pietra dei falliti" ("bankrupts stone"), where those guilty of bankruptcy would have their naked bottom exposed as a penance.

Jadi kami pun beringat-ingatlah lokasi restoran ini so that later on bolehlah kami ke sini semula for lunch.

Palazzo delle Scuole Palatine (Palace of the Palatine School).

Menara jam Palazzo dei Giureconsulti (Palace of Giureconsulti).

Itu dah nampak pun Milan Cathedral.

Milan Cathedral.

Wikipedia: Piazza del Duomo ("Cathedral Square") is the main piazza (city square) of Milan, Italy. It is named after, and dominated by, Milan Cathedral (the Duomo). The piazza marks the center of the city, both in a geographic sense and because of its importance from an artistic, cultural, and social point of view. Rectangular in shape, with an overall area of 17,000 m2, the piazza includes some of the most important buildings of Milan (and Italy in general), as well some of the most prestigious commercial activities, and it is by far the foremost tourist attraction of the city.

Milan Cathedral.
Wikipedia: Milan Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Milano), or Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica of the Nativity of Saint Mary (Italian: Basilica cattedrale metropolitana di Santa Maria Nascente), is the cathedral church of Milan, Lombardy, Italy. Dedicated to the Nativity of St. Mary (Santa Maria Nascente), it is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan, currently Archbishop Mario Delpini.
The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete: construction began in 1386, and the final details were completed in 1965. It is the largest church in the Italian Republic—the larger St. Peter's Basilica is in the State of Vatican City, a sovereign state—and one of the largest in the world.

Di dataran ini juga ada patung Statua di Vittorio Emanuele II (Statue of Vittorio Emanuele II) - Statue of the first king of a united Italy who ruled from 1861 to his death in 1878.

Wikipedia: The monument was commissioned to the Italian sculptor Ercole Rosa by King Umberto I upon the death of his father Vittorio Emanuele in 1878 , but was placed in the center of the square only in 1896 as the sculptor died before having finished it.
The monument portrays Vittorio Emanuele in the act of suddenly braking his horse to turn around to incite his soldiers before the bayonet attack in the battle of San Martino in June 1859, the last of the battles of the second Italian war of independence.

Wikipedia: At the base there are also two lions lying on the side steps, each placing a paw on a plaque engraved with the names "Roma" and "Milan", in reference to the great conquests of the Risorgimento.

Ada banyak burung di sini. Kalau di Venice it is illegal to feed the birds in order to keep the city clean. In fact, siap ada penjual makanan burung lagi.

Hawks are employed by the Greater London Authority to ensure that places like Trafalgar Square remain free of pigeons, and therefore free of their waste.

Dua lelaki kulit hitam itulah penjual makanan burung.

Hand-feeding birds can alter their behavior in harmful ways. It may also potentially spread diseases to humans.

Statua di Vittorio Emanuele II (Statue of Vittorio Emanuele II).

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Amar dikerumuni burung masa ambil gambar group... hihi.

Bergambar dengan burung.

Teringat pula masa saya 'diserang' oleh seekor cockatoo semasa di Dandenong Ranges National Park, Melbourne, Australia. Siap curi my cake! 😄

To be continued in the next coming entry, inshaAllah. Meanwhile do take care.
