By now saya sudah selesai melawat Muzium Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam, Muzium Rakyat, Muzium Layang-Layang, Muzium Kecantikan dan Galeri Meteor. Since masa tu dah pun pukul 1 tengahari, maka next in the program ialah lunch! Lapar sungguh masa tu.
Tapi now I know di mana ada yang halal! Di Mamee Jonker House! Saya jalan kaki je dari Muzium Rakyat di Jalan Kota ke Mamee Jonker House di Jalan Hang Jebat.
Passed by Dataran Belanda dan Melaka Zero Mile.

Adorable!

Sungai Melaka.
Hard Rock Cafe.
So beautiful. Di hujung lorong ini ada restoran.
Sempit lorong ni, jadi susah le nak fit the entire image in one frame kalau snap betul-betul dari depan. Jadi shoot menyenget.
Lepas tu edit kasi pusing foto tu. Dan inilah hasilnya.. hehe.
Entrance ke lorong ini.
Sambil jalan nak pergi lunch, sambil ambil gambar.
Beautifully restored.
Kedai air kelapa dan durian.
Sebuah temple.
Ok dah sampai ke Mamee Jonker House. Moh masuk, dah gigil kelaparan dah...

My lunch. Sedap! Alhamdulillah.
Hidangan Hainan Chicken Rice Ball dengan English Iced Tea.
Baik, selepas makan tenghari, saya sambung lagi program Jalan-jalan Muzium Melaka saya. Since Melaka terkenal dengan kaum Baba dan Nyonya I thought it would be nice to visit the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum.
Beautiful paintings at a shop's window.
Tiba di Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum.
Unfortunately, bila saya masuk I was told I had to wait for another 30 minutes before I can start the self-guided tour. And I was quite disappointed too that 'Photography is allowed only in certain places' as stated on the museum's board (see below). When I went inside I was told visitors can take photos only at the main entrance and not allowed at all at other sections in the museum. I came in with 4 other visitors and they we equally disappointed too and decided to leave the museum immediately. Kesian mereka sudah datang dari jauh. I was disappointed too as I was so looking forward to spend time there and learn more about Baba and Nyonya and their beautiful culture. So I left too, with the other 4 visitors.
And as it turned out, the 4 visitors and I became acquainted and one of them suggested that we go to Casababa Gallery instead where photography is definitely allowed. Though it is not by any means a 'Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum', it is still worth visiting.
Here we received a much more friendlier welcome from the reception. It sure felt nice that our visit was appreciated. We were given a brief introduction and then allowed to explore the gallery ourselves. And photography is allowed.
Ada caj masuk RM15 seorang. Worth it sangat. As it turned out, this gallery is a place for 'Fun Photo-taking at Malacca's Baba-Nyonya Cultural House'.
These are the men's hats.
The costumes are quite beautiful and festive actually.
Just make sure return back to these racks after use.
Hats and hair decorations for the ladies.
So, enjoy the photos 😊.

ReplyDeleteIndeed. Nak enjoy tmpt begini mmg la kena spend time sikit preferably with as little distractions as possible, baru la dpt appreciate all the exhibits.
