SANDAKAN - SANDAKAN CROCODILE ADVENTURE LAND

SANDAKAN - DAY 02 - PART 06 - SANDAKAN CROCODILE ADVENTURE LAND

Memang kena lalu kawasan ladang kelapa sawit masa pergi/balik Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. Ehhh... ada kerbau pulak.. hehehe...

Next we went to Sandakan Crocodile Adventure Land. Hebat namanya!
It is the largest crocodile farm in Malaysia with more than 3000 reptiles in the farm.

Masuk untuk dewasa RM10.00. Bukan murah nak bela buaya gamaknya. Entah berapa kilo ayam kena beli daily.

Masuk2 je ada kolam ni with this HUGE fish! :O

For wishing kot. Apa2 pun I hope logam duit tu tak contaminate the water. Sakit pulak ikan ni nanti.

Tengok tu kepala dia! Macam prehistoric water creature.

Portrait buaya.

Buaya suka basking in the sun sambil nganga. Why? Sebab to let off heat. Buaya tak de sweat gland.

Ada taman. Ada kolam ikan.

Kolam ikan dan taman.

Crocodile quarters. Yes, each adult crocodile ada kuarter sendiri.

Memang agak panas hari tu. Tu yang most buaya I saw dok ternganga je.

A very handsome fella, for a crocodile me think.. hehehe... Ke ni buaya betina, in which case, very pretty buaya.. hahahaha...

Ada bunga2 cantik di taman. Ada area berbumbung orkid netting. Nice and redup. Boleh duduk2 berehat kejap kat cement benches jika kelelahan.

Ostrich pun ada. Kesian tengok burung ni. Kepala dia dah botak. Actually bulu badan dia pun dah banyak tercabut. Ada mini zoo kat sini actually.

Terpesona dengan mata buntangnya yang cantik. Kesian tapi.

More crocodile quarters.

Yang ni berlumpur. Dah kering lumpur tu. Cuaca panas.

Ada banyak itik2 comel... berderet2 datang dari opposite side of pond sambil tergelek2 dan berquacking all the way bila ada pelawat yang bagi makan... hehe..

Ada fountain.

Syiok betul berendam.... :)

Haaa.. kambing2 cantik ni pun ada jugak.

Rusa pun ada. Comel also lah! :)

RM1 for seikat bayam/kangkung untuk feed rusa ni. Kesian, macam lapar benor!

Nak bagi kambing2 comel ni makan also can :). Haaa. tu dia, sampai panjat2 pagar.

Ingat dapat la ambik gambar dia up and about. Nice if can cause he got tanduk.

Hehehe...

Kesian.... bye bye bambi.. nak gi tengok kawan2 bambi yang lain pulak ok... take care.. :).

Ada ayam hutan laki bini ni. Comel yang amat.

Haaaa..... yang ni paling bising. Masa mintak makan macam budak kecik menangis.

Nak lagi! Jerit! Jerit! Adoii.. rimas dengar tapi kesian betul!

Dah habis round2, terus ke kolam besar ni untuk tengok crocodile show.

Actually I had some reservations about this show. Kurang senang dengan how these crocodiles are treated in this sort of show.

Mulut buaya ni perlu diikat it seemed for safety purposes.

Then buaya kecik ni disodok-sodok dalam air like in these photos. Like, he was using the poor unfortunate crocodile to clean the pool! What!!??? Why!!!??

Kemudian buaya ni didokong.

Dan digendung2 on the man's back. Mengelupur buaya kecik ni.

Then this huge buaya was next. It was prodded with sticks to get it out of the water.

Very likely buaya ni dah kekenyangan.

Then the announcer kata ni acara gosok gigi. Like, what the...
Penonton seemed to be delighted by this act.

Then next buaya. Air disimbah ke atas lantai and this buaya was also prodded to get it out of the kolam.

Selepas kaki2 depan buaya tu dilipat kebelakang dengan menjolok2 guna kayu, this man proceeded to kiss the crocodile.

Much to the delights of the audience. Ada yang cheering. Ada yang gasping in horror. Right.

Next this guy started mounting the crocodile and stood on it. Siap dengan 'Tadaaa!' act. Audience clapped. Right.

Tak cukup, dia baring2 pulak atas belakang buaya tu. But of course.

Mula2 baring meniarap.

Lepas tu baring mengiring sambil lambai2 penonton. Right.
Then mengiring the opposite side and lambai2 lagi.

And the finale. This man sticked his hand into the crocodile's gaping mouth. Right.

Sempat ambik gambar mereka. I know they are only working there cari rezeki. Surely mereka ni pakar buaya.

Next pelawat dijemput ke bahagian ni untuk see the crocodiles being fed.

Kalau buaya for the show tu dah kenyang, yang ni nampaknya sangat lapar.

Fresh raw chicken for lunch.

Ganas buaya2 ni. The audience went ohhh and ahhh... Right.

Berebut2 nak grab the chickens.

Dari The Star, July 13, 2014:
"The Sandakan Crocodile Adventure Land, reputedly the country’s largest crocodile farm, has been ordered to temporarily close for the operators to improve conditions for the reptiles as well as the captive animals at its mini zoo".

"Sabah Wildlife Department director Datuk Dr Laurentius Ambu, who issued the order on Friday, said the farm would remain closed until further notice following an outcry by animal activists".

"Animal rights group Friends of the Orangutan recently raised an issue with the department and other state officials over alleged poor condition that was causing stress to the animals".

"Group director Upreshpal Singh, when showing photographs to support the allegation, said the ostrich was nearly bald without feathers, macaques (monkeys) were kept in an empty cage without any ropes or trees to swing from and crocodiles kept in filthy enclosures".

"The crocodile show is abusive and must be stopped. The reptiles are prodded with sticks and forced to follow the commands of the handlers for the pleasure of visitors,” said Upreshpal, who led members of his group to the farm".
